Stanly Community College welcomed its first inductees to the newly established SCC chapter of the National Adult Education Honor Society on April 30, 2026. Through the NAEHS, we recognized adult education students for their dedication, commitment, and hard work. We were proud to have inducted thirteen students in our first NAEHS ceremony, all nominated directly by their instructors.
As a working mother continuing her own education, inductee Chelsea Springer has balanced many responsibilities. The induction ceremony recognized students’ perseverance with certificates, lapel pins, letters of recommendation, and a reception, but Springer said the greatest reward was the confidence it inspired.
“It’s helped me see that I can do this,” Springer said. “I don’t have to stay where I’ve been. That night, for the first time in my journey, I could finally say I was proud of myself.”
We look forward to this being the first of many NAEHS induction ceremonies at Stanly Community College.
