Corrections Education aims to serve the spate of College and Career Readiness services and program offerings to prospective students in North Carolina’s Correctional Facilities and Community Correctional Program Environments with the goal of secondary education credential attainment and advancement into post-secondary educational opportunities.

Correctional Facility students are incarcerated in a state or federal penal institute for criminal offenders. These include prisons, jails, and other correctional detention centers. Community-based correctional education services are those offered to individuals serving all or part of their criminal sentence under community supervision in a rehabilitation facility or halfway house, as well as those on parole or probation.”
