We’re excited to announce that the North Carolina WIOA Title II Providers’ Advisory Committee has elected its new leadership team!
Chair: Shari Brown, Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute
Shari Brown, Director of Transitional Studies at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, will serve as the Committee’s new Chair. “I’m honored and excited to serve as the chair of the WIOA Title II Providers Advisory Committee,” Shari shared. “I have had the privilege of working in adult education for the past 31 years at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in Family Literacy, Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, and English Language Acquisition. For the last three years, I have served as the Director of Transitional Studies. I look forward to our shared progress and the meaningful impact we’ll make together!”
Vice Chair: Melissa Morlock, Pitt Community College
Serving alongside Shari is Melissa Morlock, Director of Transitional Studies at Pitt Community College, who will take on the role of Vice Chair.
Melissa brings a strong background in education and leadership. She previously served as a high school principal and an elementary assistant principal and is a NC Principal Fellow Scholarship recipient. She completed extensive professional development in school leadership through the NC Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. Before her work in school administration, Melissa was a high school English teacher and yearbook instructor and earned National Board Certification for Teaching.
