Isothermal Community College Expands Workforce Training in Local Prison

Isothermal Community College’s CCR department recently launched a partnership with Continuing Education and curriculum programs to deliver workforce training inside a local prison.

Initial course offerings include OSHA 10‑Hour General Industry Certification, Forklift Operator Training, and Blueprint Reading.

The first Forklift Operator class was held on January 28, 2026, with ten students successfully completing the training. Participants gained valuable hands‑on experience and certifications that will strengthen their employment opportunities following release.

By aligning academic instruction with workforce training, this partnership helps remove barriers, expand access to education, and create meaningful career pathways for justice‑involved individuals.
