Classroom to Career: Electrical Wiring IET Students Prepare to Earn Credentials

This year, Wake Tech College and Career Readiness reimagined our Skilled Trades Integrated Education and Training program, bringing together CCR literacy and workplace skills with Workforce Development certification to create powerful career pathways.

Our largest ever cohort of Electrical Wiring IET students achieved some remarkable milestones. On August 28th, they completed their coursework.  Everyone passed their certification test and earned their HBI Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate in Residential Electrical Wiring!

In addition to their great achievements, thanks to a generous grant from Merus (a design-build developer with an office in Raleigh, NC), our students are fully equipped for success, literally! Each trainee was given a complete professional tool kit worth more than $1,000 per set, giving them everything they need to step onto a job site and start working from day one! This extraordinary investment opens doors to life-changing opportunities, and we are deeply grateful for Merus’ commitment to our students’ futures and super excited to see our learners apply the skills they have developed to help others stay “plugged in”!
