Empowering Educators in the Digital Age – Bridging the PD Gap
When: Thursday, October 23, 2025, 2:00pm – 3:30pm EDT
Presented By:
Leigh Davidson, Professional Development & Distance Learning Specialist, NCCCS Federal Programs Division
Target Audience: All College and Career Readiness Directors and Instructors
Description:
As digital learning becomes central to education, are we truly preparing educators to lead in online environments? This session, inspired by research from Dr. Elizabeth Roumell and Sarah Haroon Sualehi (Texas A&M University), explores the gap between student-focused digital literacy efforts and the professional development offered to instructors. Through interactive simulations and evidence-based discussion, participants will examine how teacher self-efficacy impacts digital instruction and identify strategies to strengthen educator confidence and capacity. Designed for adult education professionals and instructional leaders, this session offers practical tools to enhance digital teaching effectiveness.
