
EVENT: Trauma-Informed Advising: Supporting Learners in Career Pathways
DESCRIPTION:
As adult educators and advisors, understanding the impact of trauma on student success is essential to fostering a supportive learning environment. This full-day workshop will explore trauma-informed advising strategies that enhance student engagement and persistence in career pathways. Participants will review key elements of high-quality career pathways, learn best practices for creating a trauma-informed environment, and engage in reflective group activities to apply these concepts in their own institutions.
Through interactive discussions and activities, attendees will gain practical tools to better support diverse learners, ensuring equitable access to education and workforce opportunities. The session will conclude with actionable next steps for integrating trauma-informed practices into advising and student support services.

Participants will develop a local action plan and receive a toolbox of resources to deploy with adult education, community, and employer partners.
